County reopens beach to driving

All beach driving ramps, restrooms, showers, and coastal and inlet parks in Volusia County have been cleared to reopen following an assessment that found no damage to coastal assets and very minimal beach erosion.

However, beachgoers should exercise caution as Volusia County Beach Safety is flying the red flag as hazardous rip current conditions are expected to continue throughout the weekend. Residents and visitors may use the Volusia Beaches app for real-time updates on open beach ramps, locations of staffed lifeguard towers, and weather and tide conditions.
