On Tuesday, April 1, the Volusia County Council approved a funding package totaling $1,323,174 to three agencies committed to enhancing substance abuse treatment and prevention in the community.
According to a press release, "this financial commitment through the use of the Opioid Abatement Settlement funds underscores the county's heightened efforts to combat the opioid epidemic and strengthen public health through strategic intervention and support."
The agencies receiving funding are:
"The approved funds mark another step forward in the community's ongoing fight against the opioid crisis," the county press release states. "By enhancing existing services and introducing innovative treatment solutions, these organizations will be better equipped to support residents through comprehensive care and prevention strategies, aiming for lasting impacts on public health and individual well-being."
