There will be no changes to the garbage, recycling, bulk waste, or yard waste collection schedules for residents in unincorporated areas on Good Friday, April 18.
Residents living in unincorporated Volusia County whose regular collection day falls on Friday should place their items at the curb by 6 a.m. for normal pickup.
There will also be no holiday adjustment hours for the Tomoka Landfill and the West Volusia Transfer Station. The landfill will be open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., while the transfer station will operate from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Good Friday.
While waste collection services will continue as scheduled, the Volusia County Solid Waste Administration offices will be closed in observance of the holiday. The offices are set to reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 21.
Residents are encouraged to follow standard waste disposal guidelines and ensure that all items are ready for collection at the appropriate time. For more information on waste collection services, residents can visit the Volusia County Solid Waste Division’s website or call 386-943-7889. Persons living within incorporated cities should check with their local waste collection provider to confirm any potential changes to services on Good Friday.
