Janice and her daughter Evie, of Daytona Beach, were selected as Ormond Memorial Art Museum’s featured family from the museum's Feb. 1 Free Family Art Night event.

The mother-daughter duo love coming to the museum's Family Art Night program, lend by instructor Linda King, as often as they can, according to a statement from the museum. Evie is a fifth grader at the Chase Academy, a school for students with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorders in South Daytona.

"Evie likes people to know that she can do anything," the museum statement reads. "She is a cheerleader, singer, baseball player, actor and now with Mrs King’s help, an artist. Evie’s mom Janice enjoys just watching Evie shine!"

OMAM’s Family Art Night takes place from 5:30-7 p.m. on most first Fridays of the month. All art supplies are provided, and the program is sponsored in part by the Women United Volusia Chapter.

The next program is scheduled for March 7.
