A 26-year-old Palm Coast man, who was arrested in June 2023 and charged with 15 counts of possessing child pornography, was sentenced to five years in prison on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
Christopher Cashera Jr. pled guilty to all counts. His sentence also includes 10 years of sex offender probation, and a sex offender designation.
During the original investigation by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office’s Cyber Crimes Unit, 15 electronic files of videos and photos were located that portrayed children in sexually exploitative situations. The victims were believed to range from an infant to 10 years old.
“Our Cyber Crimes detectives did an outstanding job building a strong case so now this pervert will have some time in prison to think about his perverted actions,” Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said in a press release. “After that, he will spend the next decade under the strict requirements of sex offender probation to keep him from harming any children. If you are a pervert that likes to exploit children, our Cyber Crimes Unit is coming after you next.”
