First Baptist Christian Academy has begun construction on a new playground for its elementary school students.

FBCA also held a special ceremony in the chapel on Jan. 9 to celebrate it district volleyball championship — its first district championship in school history. During the ceremony, team members received championship rings. Sanigh Arneaud, Syrenity Arneaud, Joanna Fernandez, Danielle DuBose and Katherine Osterkamp were honored as all-district team members.

The playground will offer a variety of state-of-the-art equipment including swings, climbing features, slides and interactive elements that promote both individual and group play. Contributions from parents, teachers and community members made the project possible.
