Grand theft. Deputies arrested a 42-year-old Daytona Beach man who tried to steal two lawn movers from a big box store and lied about his identity. Why?
"Because I have warrants," he told deputies, according to his arrest report.
Deputies spoke with the store's asset protection investigator, who said that after he confronted the man in the store parking lot about stealing the lawn mowers, the man abandoned them and fled. The man was found in a nearby gas station bathroom, where he was detained.
The man was found to have multiple no-bond warrants from Volusia County, according to the Sheriff's Office. He was also on probation following previous convictions of grand theft and petit theft, and, had been previously trespassed from the big box store in 2023.

Disorderly intoxication. A 55-year-old Palm Coast woman resisted deputies after they were called to investigate the area by witnesses who spotted the woman riding a bicycle while drunk.
A witness initially reported seeing the woman on the ground next to a bike on a bike path. The woman was having issues standing on her own, and when she got back on the bike, was seen swerving with various pedestrians trying to stop her, according to her arrest report.
When deputies arrived, the woman was again on the ground next to her bike. A deputy asked her if she was OK, to which the woman replied, "I am drunk," her arrest report states. Throughout the deputy's investigation, the woman was told to stay on the ground to avoid harming herself, but she ignored commands. After standing up and beginning to sway, deputies took hold of her wrists, at which point the woman began screaming, which scared civilians using the bike path, according to the arrest report.
The woman was detained and as she was being placed in a patrol vehicle, she yelled a racial slur at one of the officers.
After being cleared at the hospital, she was taken to jail.
