Meet Dixie, Rose, Freckles and BB, some of the Flagler Humane Society's adoptable pets. The Humane Society is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1 Shelter Drive in Palm Coast. Adoption fees vary. Call the Flagler Humane Society at 386-445-1814 or visit flagerhumanesociety.org.

Dixie is a stunning 1.5-year-old female Labrador mix with a golden coat that perfectly matches her warm, amber eyes. Weighing around 50 lbs, Dixie is the perfect size for cuddles and adventures alike. Surrendered to the shelter on 12/15/24 due to her previous owner having too many animals. She’s now searching for a forever home that can offer her all the love she deserves. Sweet and gentle, she gets along wonderfully with other dogs and thrives on companionship. She’s not just a pretty face — Dixie is smart, eager to learn, and has quickly mastered walking beautifully on a leash. Her friendly demeanor makes her a joy to be around, whether you're going for a walk or snuggling up at home.

Rose is a gorgeous 3-year-old terrier mix with a personality as bright as her name suggests. Weighing around 45 lbs, she’s the perfect balance of playful energy and cuddly affection. Rose was found as a stray on 11/27/24, but she’s ready to leave her past behind and start a new chapter with a loving family. Rose is a sweetheart through and through. Her friendly nature and goofy antics will have you smiling from ear to ear. She’s an intelligent girl who loves to learn and is always eager to impress with her tricks and commands. But she’s also a curious explorer, making her the ideal partner for adventures — whether it’s a hike, a game of fetch, or just a stroll through the neighborhood. With her expressive ears and playful spirit, Rose is a joy to be around. She’s the kind of companion who will fill your days with laughter, tail wags, and unconditional love.

Freckles is a charming 10.5-year-old senior cat with a personality as unique as his name! Freckles was originally adopted but was sadly surrendered back to the shelter on 1/16/24 because the other pets in the home didn’t accept him. Now, he’s hoping to find a forever family that will give him all the love he deserves. This handsome boy is the perfect mix of sweet, goofy, and full of character. Freckles loves to chat and will never hesitate to let you know he’s around—his adorable meows for attention will quickly win you over. His curious nature keeps him engaged with his surroundings, and he’s always ready to explore. When he’s not on a little adventure, you’ll find him happily snuggled up, soaking in all the affection you can give. Freckles is a sociable cat who gets along well with other felines, making him a great addition to a multi-cat household (with pets who are ready to welcome him, of course!). Adopting Freckles means welcoming a loyal, affectionate friend who will fill your home with warmth, laughter, and delightful conversations.

BB is an 8-month-old feline who embodies the perfect mix of sweetness, independence, and charm. BB was transferred to our shelter on 11/9/24 from another shelter that had run out of space, and now he’s ready to find his forever home. With his sleek black coat and calm, mellow demeanor, BB is the ideal companion for someone seeking a low-maintenance yet loving pet. He enjoys cuddles and affection but is also content entertaining himself, making him a wonderful fit for a variety of households. BB is FELV-positive, which means he needs to be the only cat in the home or live with other FELV-positive cats. However, this doesn’t hold him back from being a loving, loyal companion with plenty of affection to give. He’s a special boy who deserves a special family willing to give him the love and care he’s been waiting for.
