The Ormond Beach Lions Club recently participated in the Port Orange Elks Club’s first Health Fair.

Lions screened 21 people for blood sugar levels and referred 9 for further follow up, representing a 43% referral rate, according to a news release. Normally, the Lions expect around a 35% referral rate.

The team also screened 26 people for vision and referred 14 for follow up with their eye care professional.

"Although this was a 54% referral rate, when taking the age of those screened, it was not excessively high based on our averages in our adult community," the news release states.
