Volusia County will hold a public hearing from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, in the County Council Chambers at the Thomas C. Kelly Administration Center, 123 W. Indiana Ave., DeLand, to gather residents' feedback on the Transform386 Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) action plan for Hurricane Milton recovery.
Earlier this year, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded Volusia County $133,515,000 in CDBG-DR funding to support recovery efforts following Hurricane Milton. The funds will help restore infrastructure, repair and replace housing, mitigate future disasters, and revitalize the local economy.
The hearing will be live-streamed via Microsoft Teams, and viewers will have the opportunity to submit comments during the event. A link to access the meeting will be posted at www.transform386.org before the hearing.
In January and February, residents had the opportunity to attend a series of informational sessions and complete an unmet needs survey. Feedback from these sessions and the survey helped shape the action plan.
A draft of the action plan is available for public review at www.transform386.org and all 14 Volusia County Public Library branches. Residents can submit comments on the action plan until 5 p.m. Monday, April 14. Feedback may be submitted online, by email to [email protected], or by mail to the Office of Recovery and Resiliency, 1578 N. Woodland Blvd., DeLand, FL 32720.
Those needing information in an alternative format or a language other than English can contact Volusia County's ADA/Title VI coordinator at [email protected]. Requests may also be submitted by emailing [email protected].
